The Strength to Decide

The strength to decide

“It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires a great deal of strength to decide what to do.”  Elbert Hubbard

Popular wisdom states that we shouldn’t make important, life-changing, decisions during the first year after a major loss. Sometimes, however, doing so is impossible and decisions have to be made.

Lean on those who love you. Ask for wise counsel. But know that the strength to decide DOES lie in you. Most decisions can be made one step at a time. Take a deep breath and take the first one — even if that first step is simply telling someone what you plan to do next.
